Synopsis
Nora Stephens is a workaholic. At this point in her life that is her main personality trait. As a literary agent she is constantly at her jobs beck & call. Between her clients & the demands of her job she has a finite amount of time for the people in her life. Which is why when she starts to feel distance between her sister & herself she decides a vacation is in order (a working vacation during the slow month…obviously). What she’s not expecting is for the small town of Sunshine Falls, North Carolina to be quirky & adorable. Nor is she expecting her sister to make a list of silly out of character things for them to accomplish while they’re in this small town. The biggest surprise though is how even though she’s states away from NYC she keeps running into freaking Charlie Lastra, and editor from back in the city. An editor that is not on Nora’s list of people to dedicate her precious time to. However fate has other plans as the two book lovers are thrown together & forced to spend a lot of time together. & Nora begins to realize she may just find Charlie to be the person she wants to spend all her time with.

I love Nora & Charlie. 10/10 for their banter & chemistry. Charlie’s deadpan humor was . Nora’s inner monologue had me laughing out loud more than once. I almost always love a small town romance trope & this one did not disappoint. Sunshine Falls was precious. I really enjoyed getting to meet so many side characters. && the pun names in this town y’all.
perfection.

The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that sometimes i felt like things got explained in the longest way possible. It made it too easy for my mind to get distracted with other things while I was reading & I hate when that happens. However, despite those few spots the rest of the story is well written & edited beautifully. It is only in Nora’s POV & I did wish we could have had some moments in Charlie’s perspective. Overall though this book is a nice easy read.

The chemistry & tension in this book is the main draw here. The sexy moments are full of banter & their chemistry makes you fall right into the moment with them. Nothing is particularly detailed & you could read this one closed door if you wanted to. Personally, I was so ready for them to hook up & do more than make out that it felt like such a win when we got there.

I loved this book. It was so cute & fun to read. I finished it in 24 hours. I had to take a few breaks to adult but otherwise it kept me pretty engaged & ready to turn the page to keep the story going. Nora & Charlie were so magnetic. I felt really drawn into their story. I was pretty much hooked from the moment we got Bigfoot erotica.

This was my first book from Emily Henry. I will definitely be reading more from her in the future. I actually bought the physical copy of this book & I am so glad I did bc I will definitely be rereading this one. I am dying to annotate it bc Charlie’s words y’all. The man deserves some pretty highlighters & tabs. Lol. I saw today that this book won the Goodreads romance category for the year & I can totally see why. It’s such a perfect romance. It’s definitely on my recommendation list! What’s your favorite Emily Henry book? Let me know in the comments & help me pick my next read from her. The one coming in 2023 looks pretty good!
