Hello. I’m Lauren Brooke.
Let’s start our introductions with the basics shall we? I’m a thirty-something wife & mom of two young kids. I am obsessed with rhinos & I love Chicago Cubs baseball. I live in a cute little pocket of Arkansas that has a little bit of everything to enjoy like all the seasons, good food, good coffee & the best book shops. So, what do I do with all of those options? I read a lot – like a lot a lot – & I figured why not do something with it so here we are!
Onward with the Introductions
Everyone knows you’re really here to learn about my book reading habits. I don’t blame you – I read a lot of good stuff. ๐ I do mostly read romance novels, but I am totally open to a good mystery, fantasy novel or spy thriller – send all your suggestions my way! However, let’s be honest & say around 90% of my reading is romance related. Reading a good HEA is basically my life blood. Any genre of romance will do from Historical (hello, handsome duke) to Paranormal (who doesn’t love a werewolf) with a good mix of Contemporary and Fantasy *looking at you SJM* all thrown in. I’ve got a little Q & A below with some of my favorites so check those out as well as their reviews!

- Reading Goal for 2022?
- My original goal was 200 but I hit it early so now it’s 250.
- Paperback or Hardback?
- Neither. I’m a Kindle girl all the way. (I have small kids y’all and some of these covers are not meant for little eyes ๐๐คฃ) But, if I have to choose I would say paperback.
- Best Romance Trope?
- Oh gosh, a tie between Enemies to Lovers & Forced Proximity.
- Favorite Non-Romance Book of 2022?
- My husband finally convinced me to read Dune (it’s his favorite of all time & he’s been asking me for like a decade ๐คฃ) & I *loved* it. Watching the movie again after reading it made it so so much better.
- All Time Favorite Book Character?
- This one is tough – I would say it’s always Loren Hale (Addicted series), but currently I also adore Rhysand (ACOTAR) & Nesta (ACOSF).
- Favorite Author?
- Easy – all of them. Seriously though, I am a hardcore Krista&Becca Ritchie fan. I have read all their books & I subscribe to their Patreon for even more content because I am obsessed. I’m also in love with all things Meghan Quinn, SJM, Scarlett Scott & Melanie Harlow.
- Favorite Love Story you could read again & again?
- Loren & Lily. Maximoff & Farrow. Bonnie & Rowan. Logan & Tate. Nesta & Cassian. These are my ride or dies that I have reread over & over.
- Best LGBTQ+ romance?
- Okay, I have THOUGHTS on this but – I would say for M|M it would be Moffy & Farrow (Like Us Series). For F|F I would say Jane & August (One Last Stop). I also have a slight [re: huge] obsession with Bi Awakening stories & seriously Logan & Tate (Try Series) are absolutely the best. 10/10.
- Favorite Read of 2022 so far?
- A Court of Thorns and Roses series. I was late to the party here & it was amazing. I’m looking forward to more of this world as well as starting Throne of Glass & Crescent City.
