Synopsis
After her fathers murder Bree finds herself needing to escape from her current world of grief & terror so one night she packs up her dog & a few belongings & leaves Ohio for Maine. After settling in & finding a job to keep herself afloat during her temporary stay she finds herself in a pharmacy parking lot with a broken bag of chocolate & tampons scattered about. Luckily a man stops to help her & when she looks up to see his face she’s instantly drawn to him. Only when she speaks to him he stays silent & leaves without ever saying a word. Archer Hale has lived in Maine his whole life but has always remained on the outskirts, all but forgotten. A life of loss & tragedy has left him mute. So when the new woman in town asks him to say something he just has to walk away frustrated & ready to go back to his secluded home. But it seems no matter where he turns this woman keeps popping up. Including in his own yard. The more they interact & learn about each other the more they find an easy friendship. When it starts to become more will they be able to overcome their baggage to start a life with each other or will their pasts overshadow the future & keep them apart?

Break It Down
Story: – 5 Stars
This was one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve read this year. Archer Hale is a gem. The man is so good. I love how Bree breaks down his walls & he brings happiness back to her life. I felt like the book did a good job with disability representation. Not only with Archer but the tie in with Bree’s dad. I adored this story. I was so damn happy while I read it. Such a perfect HEA.

This was a dual pov book but it isn’t alternating chapter style. We don’t get a whole lot of archers pov, we mostly get Bree’s. I didn’t mind though bc when we do get archer his pov it’s so good. This book isn’t really fast paced but it does flow very nicely. It didn’t have any weird lulls or spots where I felt confused or overwhelmed.

A large part of this book is Bree & Archer learning each other. So obviously that includes some good sexy moments. Archer really comes into his own here & his bedroom skills learning Bree melted me. Don’t we all want a man who learns everything about us just from listening?!

This book was so hyped & I was so worried I was going to read it & be disappointed. & Honestly the opposite happened. I loved this book so much. It wrecked me & healed me & melted me. I swooned & but my lip & cried & laughed. It was just everything. One of the best contemporary romances I’ve read this year. Archer Hale is a man written by a woman for women bc he is perfection. If you didn’t fall in love with him right there with Bree you’re doing it wrong.

I am so glad I read this book. Gosh, it was so good. I cannot wait to read more by Mia Sheridan. My kindle popped up with Travis’ book that came out this year. I am looking forward to reading his story. I think after that I want to try the Blame Lies series. Have you read them? It sounds intense & I am already super excited about it.
