Synopsis
Bee Kรถnigswasser is a scientist. Full stop. Nothing extra in her life other than her twin sister, not even a cat. After a rough childhood & bouncing around from home to home all she wants is stability & to be a modern day Marie Curie. The only difference being Marie had Pierre & Bee has sworn off love after her fiance turned out to be a cheating liar. Now that she’s been offered her DREAM job at NASA as a neuro imaging specialist she’s well on her way. But much to her dismay she discovers she’s going to be co-leading this project with her grad school nemesis Dr. Levi Ward. Cue awkward tension & when that tension starts to crackle & pop – she realizes it may not be hate in her heart it must be love on the brain.

Ali Hazelwood really delivered with this one. Who doesn’t love a woman in STEM?! Such a fun switch up from the nanny or winery owner ya know? & then she gave us Levi *insert one hundred heart eye emojis* ugh this one checked so many boxes for me. Enemies to lovers? Check. He falls first? Check. Slow burn, sexy chemistry & an HEA? Check. Check. And Check.

Definitely a five star. Well written, well edited & not too long. It’s written in single POV which, honestly, is not normally my thing but it really felt like we were right there with Bee in her head & I loved it!
Spice: ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ – 3 flames
This one was hard to rate. I almost gave it 2 flames but that didn’t feel right. The spice is juicy when we get it but there isn’t too much. This is definitely one you could easily read closed door style. The good bits are very good though & delightfully detailed.
Overall: โจโจโจโจโจ – 5 stars
This was a true 5 star read for me. I loved Bee. I laughed out loud through the whole book at Bee’s quirky inner dialogue, swooned over Levi & his adorable awkward gruffness. It was such a unique & engaging story. I had fun reading it.
The first book I read by Ali Hazelwood was
The Love Hypothesis.
It was such a good read & I was worried I wouldn’t like this one as much as Olive & Adam’s story. But I definitely liked this one even more. Highly recommend this to any romance lover. Ali Hazelwood has given me a new book boyfriend in the top 5. Levi was 10/10 for me. I loved his whole vibe. Iโm a sucker for green eyed men. โI want to tell her that sheโs luminous, sheโs so bright in my mind sometimes I canโt focusโ โฆ I mean unghhh so romantic. Iโm definitely going to be adding all Aliโs novellas to my (already so long ๐คฃ) TBR list (which you can find on my bookstagram)
